A couple weekends ago I found two great angled bookshelves at a yard sale. Yesterday I painted one of them to put it in my bedroom. I went to Lowes and bought two cans of Krylon White Satin spray paint and a drop-cloth and set up shop in my garage. A couple of coats of paint later I have a great new bookshelf for my bedroom! Now I have a place to put books I’m currently reading besides piling them up on my nightstand! The other bookshelf I’m using in my office, but I haven’t decided what color I want to paint it yet so I’m using it “as is” for now.

Adam, I’ve been a lurker @ door sixteen and now here!
I love your new bookshelves, the white is great wish I had a pair.
About the stairs…I think you could put a slim 1/4″ thick and 1/2″ tall piece of trim at the bottom of the tread. I think plain or concave moulding would look better than round. Just my opinion. ;o)
I know all about needing to do remodeling work and my problem is being unemployed I have the time but not the money! Keep plugging away and know that I’m probably not the only lurker on you blog…=o)
Hey Kim! Thanks so much for posting! I’m glad you’re enjoying my blog. I think I’m in agreement with you, after thinking about the trim I’m considering adding to the stairs, that plain would be better than rounded. Glad you like the bookshelf too, they were quite a find, I’m pretty lucky!
The shelf came out GREAT, Adam!! Nice job.
Thank you Anna! I love it!
