Last weekend was Potsdam’s Garage Sale Weekend! I tried to stay away from a lot of them, as I’m trying not to bring a whole lot of new stuff into the house right now (I need to have my own garage sale), but I couldn’t resist a few things! While I was helping out at the annual Potsdam Humane Society sale, I found an awesome bronze vase with a Chinese dragon on the side, and I just had to bring it home! I also found 4 glass flowers. I wasn’t going to get them at first, but the more I looked at them the more fun I thought they were. I think they might look nice displayed singly in a vase here and there in places that could use a little pop of color. My last find was the best one though- two awesome angle sided bookshelves! They are in great condition and just need a coat of paint; I haven’t decided what color yet. I got them both for $20! I’m going to replace the crappy prefab bookshelf in my office with one, and I might put the other in either my bedroom or the guest room upstairs! I love a good garage sale!

Isn’t it a gazillion times more exciting to find stuff at a garage sale than it is to go to a regular store?! I love the thrill of finding something awesome…and then paying next to nothing for it.
Love that dragon vase!
I agree! It really is like what I imagine treasure hunting would be like!
Ah, there’s nothing quite like a good thrift find ! Unfortunately I came back empty handed from my flea market expedition this morning…
Looking forward to what you will do with those awesome bookshelves!
